Any Queenstown itinerary is incomplete without an outing down to Glenorchy. Renowned for being the filming location for the Isengard scenes in the Lord of The Rings Trilogy, it offers breathtaking views down the length of Lake Wakatipu and into the Dart River Valley.  

Your day begins with a complimentary hotel pick up featuring informative and engaging commentary en route to the wondrous Glenorchy. You’ll be offered the opportunity to jump out and soak up the awe-inspiring vistas along the way before arriving at the Dart River Wilderness Jet base where you’ll be suited and booted head to toe in fetching wet-suit gear.

The fun begins on board one of the Dart River Jet boats as you’re whisked up the Dart River at speeds of up to 80km/ph. You'll be kept suitably entertained by both the thrill of the ride and the serene surroundings.

After roughly an hour of jet boating up the Dart you'll find yourself in an inflatable funyak (pictured below), a tranquil juxtaposition to the energetic jet boat that came before. 

Takin' it easy. Sit back and marvel at the natural beauty that surrounds you. Or slap the metaphorical bass, whichever one tickles your fancy.

You'll make you way back down the Dart River at a leisurely pace, floating seamlessly through the braided river and into hidden streams, rock pools and chasms.

Your lunch stop is set among some of the clearest waters you're ever likely to see. You'll have the chance to relax, recharge your batteries with an incredible wilderness picnic lunch and for those who are keen, there's the opportunity to head for a quick dip.

Cannonballs are encouraged.
